Certificate

James Calvin Wyatt
Sergeant

1998-10-15 His nephew, Ken Wyatt, supplied a scan of the certificate his grandparents received when he was killed. (click to enlarge) He also has the following to say:

"James Calvin Wyatt was killed at the end of July 1944.  His family would be interested in learning the circumstances of his death. Unfortunately, his service files were among those burned with many other service records in a government facility in St. Louis, Missouri.  As a result, the family hopes that someone reading this page can shed light on how James Wyatt perished.

He was a Sergeant at the time of his death.  James Wyatt was born in Brunswick County, Virginia during the year 1919.  Therefore, he perished at the age of twenty-five.  One rumor the family has heard pertains to a plane crash near Pisa.  The family knows that he spent time at Fort Devens, MA and in the Portland, Maine area before going overseas.  The picture above is the certificate the family received from the government.  It is a chrished heirloom of the Wyatt family.

Anyone with information on the death of James Wyatt should e-mail wyatt2@ix.netcom.com.  Thank you."
